Internet Marketing…thats easy right?

So you want to get involved with Internet Marketing. Where to start….which guru should you “follow”. There are more courses out there that cover internet marketing than we could probably count.

Why is that? Well, probably because they sell…and why is that?….it seems like a really great way to earn money of course. We could sit in our pyjamas….sit on a beach….sit, well, anywhere we choose.

While there are some people that love their job, love getting up in the morning to go to work, love the commuting, the majority of us don’t. The majority of us want to sit on a beach with a laptop and have thousands of orders a month coming into our many websites and just reap the rewards. And of course, it’s so easy isn’t it? Just buy a course from someone that’s done it, follow what they say and voila you are raking in money by the bucket load.

No?

What most of them don’t tell you is that it’s not that easy. It’s a lot of hard work. Most people don’t or can’t put the hours into promoting their site, or affiliate program that they need to, to get it noticed and therefore to start earning money.

Take google adsense sites for example, seems pretty simple, put the code on your webpage, and thousands of people will click the ads you have on there.You now have a huge amount of money coming in from those ads.

But wait…. what thousands of people? Where are they going to come from?

Now that’s where the work begins. You need to get those people to your sites in the first place, and that’s a lot lot harder than the “gurus” would have you believe.

Of course it can be done, its BEEN done so we know it can. But it won’t come from staring at your computer screen willing people to visit your site to sign up to the fancy autoresponder you have on there, or buy your product – in other words, to do what you want them to do.

It will come from sheer dogged determination, time, testing techniques and ads and all the other work that goes into it and it doesn’t matter which course you buy if you haven’t got that will and determination I’m afraid it’s the same as any business “offline” it’s just plain not going to work.

So, before you go off and buy the next best course, the one you really can’t do without, the one that’s going to bring you riches beyond your wildest dreams, STOP and answer the question they should all have on their front page (but won’t because it wouldn’t sell right?) and that is

“Have I got the determination and patience to make this work and do I mind doubling the hours I work in a day for however long it takes”

and if the honest answer is no?… then the best thing you can do with that $40, $400 or even $4,000 is to put it back in your wallet and treat yourself to something nice instead.
